Ahhh...a breeze!

Now the title of this post could be taken one of two ways...like ahhhhh what a lovely breeze, or more abrupt....ah!  a breeze!!!  In my life here in Honduras I like to use it both ways.  For instance today I'm sitting in my house with the windows cranked wide open...the breeze cuts the hotness and makes life a little more enjoyable.  However, with that said...I also decided to sweep my dust filled house today (I feel like I should mention I sweep my house multiple times a day...I don't just wait around for days and days for the dust to accumulate...that happens within hours of living on the dusty main street!).  Anyway...I was sweeping and one of those lovely breezes breezed right through my house disturbing my nice neat piles of dirt.  So yes, when a breeze comes breezing along through my house I do have mixed emotions.

Down on the corner, out in the street...

The bad thing about being on a corner lot...you can't wash your clothes or burn your trash in peace.  Now I'm sure if you're just another Honduran you may not encounter this problem...but being the white north american...it makes for entertainment.  Without fail, if I am out doing laundry or raking or burning trash...people stop and watch.  If you've ever wondered what an animal in a zoo feels like...just head to your closest third world country where you're a minority and stand on one side of a fence.  People will be sure to watch you...

Some are brave enough to ask questions...you know like:  Why don't you have someone wash your clothes for you?  Can you burn things in your yard in the States?  Wow..you actually know how to rake?  And then there are the times that they just stand there laughing...

Yawwwwwwwwwn....

So much to write about.......and no energy to write.  To the few of you that actually read this blog, no worries...I'll update soon!!!  April vacation is fast approaching and I'm sure I'll just be sitting around with plenty of time to write MANY posts!  :)
